Dividend information and history

Air New Zealand's dividend policy is to pay an ordinary dividend equal to between 40% to 70% of underlying net profit after tax, subject to the Board's due consideration of various factors it deems relevant. These factors may include the Company's current and forecast key credit metrics, earnings, operating cashflows, debt repayment and capital requirements (including fleet investments).

The pay-out ratio range of 40% to 70% is intended to provide sufficient flexibility for dividends to be maintained through cycles in economic conditions and Air New Zealand's investment profile.

Dividend payments are expected to be split into an interim dividend paid in March and a final dividend in September and are paid in New Zealand and Australian dollars.

The Board intends to attach imputation credits to dividends to the extent that they are available.

There may be periods of time when excess capital is available to be returned to shareholders, separate to the ordinary dividend. These will be at the discretion of the Board and may take place via special dividends or share buybacks.

Notwithstanding the above, the Board of Air New Zealand has absolute discretion to change its intention, to increase or reduce dividends, or not authorise any dividends at all on Air New Zealand shares.
